Approximately every two weeks, we send out an e-newsletter updating you on public policy items that impact hunger in our cities, Texas, the United States, and sometimes the world.  This newsletter is meant to help our advocates build a better understanding of food policies that can impact hunger.

We cover a wide range of topics from policy changes that could help or harm social programs, to understanding the relationship between farmers and food pantries, or even how cows, bus stops, dollar stores, and China all fit into the food web of our globe.

We love your feedback and thoughts so please make sure to hit reply are share that with us!  You're able to unsubscribe at any time.

We  need your  Voice

When creating or changing policy, our elected officials must make tough decisions that may impact our ability to help close the hunger gap in North Texas. Faced with decisions that can impact millions of people, they are counting on hunger-fighters to help provide them with accurate and timely information.

The Community Advocates program at North Texas Food Bank protects our ability to help close the hunger gap through active hunger policy engagement. By connecting our partner agencies, community leaders, those with lived experiences, and our advocates we become a strong united voice to fight against hunger.
If you'd like to learn more, please read our policy priorities and contact us below for an application.

Why Advocate?

The International Covenant on Economic, Social and Cultural Rights recognizes the right to an adequate standard of living, including adequate food, and the fundamental right to be free from hunger.

At North Texas Food Bank 54% of the meals we provide access to are tied to government programs. Protecting and strengthening these programs allows North Texas Food Bank to realize our vision of a hunger-free healthy North Texas.
